The Future's Past

Our idea of the future, often is a mystery

The root of this problem, seems to lie in history;

Our past, their present, was filled with necessity

Science and technology, both fueled by curiosity

The 'west' preached democracy, the negroes replied hypocrisy

Racism and discrimination laid the foundation of their economy

Ignorance and illiteracy were the insecurities at the time

Therefore, the whole world, the 'west' they would mime

The middle east though declined, and the far east were re-designed

So in the post-recession, they would rise to their prime

To lead the world into a new digital timeline

Now, 'the chaos theory' has been set in motion

As the polar regions are becoming one with the ocean

The resources that drive our economies run dry

The people in government tell lie after lie

We now live in an age of political tension

Alot of debates, yet little comprehension

The origin of these problems are rooted firmly in the past

Like rain drops to an ocean, these problems are now vast

I really want to believe our solution is through unification

To share all our problems, and act as one nation

To embrace different cultures and forgo divisions

To respect one another and not judge based on religions

Irrespective of peoples chosen sexual orientations

Afterall, no one was born with written specifications

Be free to take decisions, its your basic right

Follow your dreams, and not what's in plain sight

For one day we would die, and this world we'd miss

As for the rest of y'all, I guess ignorance is bliss!

To seek and to pursue, something almost unattainable

Through all means necessary, and any way available

Despite various obstacles and many hidden set-backs

To keep focus on the prize, so as to remain steadfast;

Worship isn't mainly religiously related

Afterall, 'money as a god' is still heavily debated

To worship is greater than to want or to desire

To worship can be likened to 'sex on fire'

When you look in the mirror, and you dream at night

When you think to yourself, sitting there in the spotlight!

That moment in time, set aside for you

Is an act of worship, I'm guilty of it too;

Self-worship is undermined, because of abuse

Spiritual worship is overrated due to moral views

The truth about religion as worship lies in oblivion

Now, Man and not GOD, on this earth has dominion;

Lost In Thought Vol. 2

I can now see the world, through sober eyes

All my ears hear, are more and more lies

Technology is designed to capitalize on insecurity

Liberty is faux, available to select minority

Freedom is to live, and to live is freedom

Love is to give, and to forgive is of the kingdom

To those in authority, this war shows lack of knowledge

But blessed are those men, who died showing courage

I couldn't face the world, because I was scared of my dreams

So I resorted to making countless plans and schemes

Success and failure have both played their part

The former I hold closely to my heart

I now walk this life, still searching for insight

I peer down that tunnel, whose ending is light

Hoping that one day, all would be forgot

As I wander this life, Lost in thought

To this day are dedicated

Showing warm and fuzzy feelings

With that special someone

A day of personal dealings

It may be a meal or a present

Something to sweeten memories

A time to indulge,

And maybe even lay down future legacies

Emotions running high

Nerve endings tingling

Lips may interact

But limbs will be mingling

Pairing is apparent

And highly advised

Because love is in the air

Being seriously advertised

Time is running out

I'm racing to my 'rose'

Beautiful and elegant

It's she, whom I chose

I hold her in my arms

I'm glad I made her mine

It only makes it extra special

That she's my valentine

Lost In Thought Vol. 1

I lay awake, many a night

Lost in thought, searching for insight

Driven by the hunger to acquire more knowledge

With the belief that herein lies more than in college

My mind is like a bee-hive, buzzing with excitment

Take a peak at your peril, for herein lies enlightenment

Night after night, im hit by ideas

Not taking them serious has brought me nothing but tears

Time to change focus and get out of this hole

The pursuit of happiness is my ultimate goal

Call me selfish for turning my back on my dreams

Im not sure its worth it making pointless plans and schemes

I weep for my undiscovered potential

Forcing myself to believe that only comfort is essential

Not wanting to stand out for fear of vulnerability

To maintain my self-respect, dignity and humility

The Painful Truth Vol. 1

Like a warm breeze blowing in the african night

Brushing my face vigourously, like a one-sided fight

I stand amazed, with no reply

If she lets me, her body, I would defy

Closer and closer, I can feel her heart race

Gentle and mild, then a sudden change of pace

That look, that stare, almost like she's teasing

If she lets me, her body, I would be pleasing

The need, the hunger, it grows stronger and stronger

I want to make her mine, I can't take it any longer

Torture and slavery are nothing compared to this

But I love her and respect her, so I bless her with a kiss

The kiss gets deeper, emotions unravel

Arms embrace, as our minds travel

At first glance, picture perfect, it all seem fine

Look a little closer, the heart that's bleeding is mine

My Dear Mother

Dear Mother,

I address this piece to you
To remind you of my love for you
The hardest thing I have had to do
Is fly to England, far from you

Im proud to say you are my mother
You raised me, my sister and brother
Nurturing us through our infant years
Cleaning and changing our underwears

Never complaining, just giving us love
I always knew that you were a gift from above
Ever present and always ready to guide
With you, there is nothing I would hide

We love you, and I hope you know
I understand the affections you show
Worrying and caring that comes from the heart
It is the reason nothing can tear us apart

And to the greatest DAD also sent from above
We are proud of you, even with the tough love
I apologise for all the heart ache we have caused
And thank you for forgiving and not giving up on us

Dear mother, To you returns my focus
In our family, you are the backbone, the locus
On this special day, you should enjoy and savour
Feasting on delicacies and avoiding any form of labour

I hope on you birthday all your wishes come true
Long life and prosperity are my wishes for you

We love you mum

From your sons

Yamarita's Poem

Its a sticky situation when you are caught in-between
Doing the right thing for a friend and letting her wean
And discover the world and what it has to offer
These experiences could break her or even make her tougher
But I dont want to see her suffer, I want to intervene
But in the eyes of the third party, I would appear mean
There are unwritten laws, in being a man
Cock blocking is wrong, avoid it if you can

But at the same time, I cant sit here and wait
The lady involved is my best mate, and her lads a fake
He uses her mind and plays with her intelligence
All because she's gullable and suffers a little negligence
I hate pretence, I took offence when she made me aware...
of her current situation, it gave me a scare
Now how to repair this love affair is entirely her decision
I just didnt want to stand by without her hearing my opinion

Love ya to bits

The Real Crisis

All I see are problems and emergencies.

Terrorists remain a threat through violent tendencies.

Economies and Businesses struggle to survive,

While people in poorer countries are managing to stay alive.

The World is deteriorating because of the peoples need.

But in the recent times, it has been because of some peoples greed

Some MP's and Politicians are just there for the ride

Others stand out, having the smaller people in mind

Drugs and weapons, heavily traded commodities

But for a price, death and various atrocities

Homicide or genocide, all I see is killing

People killing people, our solution through kneeling...

In prayer to God, hoping for an answer...

To this incurable disease, Humans are like a cancer
